SAUTEED CHAYOTE | GINISANG SAYOTE WITH SARDINES AND EGGS
INGREDIENTS:
* 2 TBSP. OIL
* PALAPA ( Mixed sakurab, ginger and chili )
* 1 PC. ONION
* 2 PCS. SAYOTE /CHAYOTE
*1 TBSP. SALT
* 2 CANS SARDINES
* 4 PCS. EGGS
INSTRUCTIONS: 👇
* Prepare chayote by peeling off the skin. You may want to use gloves while doing this. It will ooze a sticky substance when peeled, which may cause skin irritation. Cut the peeled chayote in half and remove the seed. Cut the halves in quarters and then slice each piece crosswise into thin slices. Set aside. Slice the onion and set aside.
* In a cooking pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the palapa and onion; saute for 30 seconds. Add the chayote , stir to combine . Cook for 2 minutes or until the chayote has softened.
* Add the sardines and eggs, saute for 3 minutes. Adjust the seasonings with salt to taste.
* Serve with steamed rice.
